Cusseta, Ala. - Jackie Duanne Stewart Sr., 64, of Cusseta, Ala., died December 17, 2013 at his residence.

Born on December 18, 1949 in Macon Co., NC, reared in Arden, NC, he was a son of the late Lawrence J. and Wilma Franks Stewart. He served in the United States Army, a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his children, Dana S. Dill, Cherish S. Gibson, Jackie D. Stewart Jr., and Mark Shane Stewart; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, all of NC; his siblings, Danny, R.L, Jimmy and Lena S. Waters, all of Ala. and Patricia S. Ashford of Texas.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David Stewart and a sister, Margaret S. Ward.

The family will hold a private memorial service, in his honor, at a later date. Interment will then take place at Buck Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Highlands, NC.
