Melba Rose Payne, 80, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013. She was born December 9, 1933 in Rensselaer, IN to Dave and Emma Jean (Bailey) Risner. Rose was raised by her mother and William Risner, who became her dad upon Dave's death when Rose was one month old. She graduated from Wheatfield High School and had been a Mold Injection Operator at McGill Manufacturing.
Rose is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe Payne, and 6 children: Alan (Katie) Payne of Hanna, Richard (Penny) Payne, Ann (Mitch) Watson, Sandra (Curt) Joiner, Jacqueline (Tom) Stoner all of Valparaiso and Rodney (Debbie) Payne of Kouts. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 7 siblings: Joyce Patterson, Delbert Risner, William Risner, Jr., Peggy Tripp, Kathy Olson, Janet Hamacher and Mary Lou Risner. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings: Aldean Watson, Betty Lee, Stanley Risner and Ken Risner.
