CHARLES "CHARLIE" RATHSACK, 83, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013. Born Aug. 3, 1930, in Mani towoc, Wis., he worked as a sales manager for Mirro Corporation before retiring in 1985. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a member of the 1st Division Military Police Company stationed in Germany. He was a lifelong member of American Legion Post 241, the Forty et Eight, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Charlie served the American Legion in many capacities including Post Commander for five years and the 4th District Commander in 2008-2009. He will be remembered as a lifelong Packer fan. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Michael (Debbie); two stepsons, Brent and Brian Belote; brothers, Louie (Jane), Joe and John (Cheryl); sisters, Clarice Shaden, Karen (Jiggs) Hermann, Katy (Bill) Jens, Pat (Don) Malley, and Mary (Wynn) Jansky; grandchildren, Robert, Christi, Andy, Tara, Danny, Josh, September, August, Morgan, Delaney, and Aisia; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Reid, Lydia, Grayson, and Emily; and siblings-in-law, Donald Harber, Kay (Rich) Hertel and Keith (Jacque) Elliott. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Clarence and Lorraine Rathsack; first wife, Peggy Rathsack; son, Mark Rathsack; and a twin brother, Clarence "Casey" Rathsack. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with a gathering of friends and family one hour prior.
