Kerry Lee Brooks, 56, of Cutler, passed away at 4:12 a.m. Monday Dec. 23, 2013 in Sparta Community Hospital. Kerry was born Aug. 15, 1957, in Chicago to Robert Brooks and Audrey (Bridgeman) Brooks Leggans. Mr. Brooks had worked as an auto mechanic and as a logger. He loved his kids, his dog, Buddy and his horses. Besides his Mother, Audrey Leggans of Murphysboro, survivors include tow children, Kayla (Randy) Loyd of Chester and Kyle Sedmeyer also of Chester, two grandchildren, Kegan and Alexis Loyd of Chester, sister, Darla LeForge of Dowell, and brother Ron Brooks of Dowell. He was preceded in death by his Father Robert Brooks and Stepfather, Donald Leggans. His body will be cremated. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro to remember Kerry with his family. Memorials may be made to the family.
