Businessman. Born in Mays Lick, Kentucky, he is best known as the founder of the Pangburn Candy Company. At age of fourteen he went to Dallas, Texas and during employment in a drug store acquired a thorough knowledge of pharmacy and the drug business. Moving to Fort Worth in 1902, he became proprietor of his own drug store and by 1914, he organized the Pangburn Company, manufacturing ice cream. Two years later he added a candy department with a recipe which included choice Texas pecans, buttery caramel, rich milk chocolate and just a touch of honey. The product was named Pangburn's Millionaires which became very popular and still available in stores to this date.
