Ann Brown married James Reid in 1859 he died in 1870 leaving her with 6 young children....... The family still lived in Binbrook Ontario during the 1871 census and also her brother John aged 21 and it is likley they were living on the Brown Homestead, that same year Ann married married George Stewart 27 Oct 1871......, by 1881 the children were living with various relatives & neighbours in Binbrook and Caister and there was no indication were she & her husband lived....1891 found Annie Brown (widowed ) living in Toronto with son William Wright Reid & his wife Jenny and had reverted back to the Reid name......It is apparent that George Stewart died prior to this date..........Family notes and other information indicated she died at the home of her son William W Reid at Shanawan, RM of MacDonald Manitoba 22 Jan 1908......There was a death on that date in RM of MacDonald but the death is of the name Annie Ramsden, female, age 64 the person is Annie Brown who has remarried for the 3rd time.... Annie Ramsden was buried at the Sanford Cemetery plot # 90 not far from where she died at Shanawan......At the top it says At Rest in Memory of: .The tombstone describes her as Ann Ramsden wife of William..... 64 years 8 months & 7 days....this computes to 15 May 1843 (exactly the prior information we had)........ It is quite possible that Annie married William Henry Ramsden born in 1843 Ontario.....Her death certificate says she was born in Scotland but all other documents indicate she was born in Ontario... Hugh her father bought land in Binbrook in 1840......Ann's son William Reid & William Ramsden owned Homestead property very near each other in Buffalo Twp Cass County North Dakota. Will Reid took possession in 1898 It is beleived that Annie lived with them and it is where she met William Ramsden.
The Ramsdens lived in North Dakota as early as 1880 in the same area as the William Wright Reids lived who came to N D in 1892, William Ramsden divorced his wife Naomi Ramsden 1894.... Coincidentally Naomi and her son Leroy & family lived in RM MacDonald Manitoba from 1907 to 1912 not far from William Reid's...... William Ramsden disappeared without a trace after, there is a possibility that William Ramsden is buried at Sanford as well .....It is known that William W Reid & his wife Jenny lived in North Dakota from 1896 to 1902 as their children Leslie & Florence were born there on these dates, it is also believed that Annie lived with them in North Dakota, but we are unable to find any of them in the 1900 US & 1901 Canadian census.....We have no marriage certifcate for William & Annie and nothing official that has them living togather other than a tombstone and a death certicate for Mrs A Ramsden.....During my research I met and talked and exchanged information with two great grandsons of William Henry Ramsden both live in US both named William Ramsden and we have all agreed that it is very liklely Annie Brown indeed married William Henry Ramsden sometime around 1900 give or take a year or two......Another son Hugh lived in ND from 1882 until he died in 1944, he had a busness connections with William H Ramsden in a homestead lot in Eddy Co ND in 1898 so this Ramsden / Reid connection goes back to the mid 1880's.......Hugh Reid actually owned the property next to William Ramsden in Eddy County ND.
