She was born April 14, 1931, in Jamestown and was a daughter of the late George and Esther Raymond.
She belonged to the Busti Church of God, Busti Golden Agers, Red Hat Society and was a 50year member of the Busti Fire Department Women's Auxiliary.
Mary Lou was an accomplished artist, creating many beautiful paintings. She also enjoyed reading and any time spent with her family and friends. Mary Lou's family will always remember her love of shopping and eating out.
Surviving is a son, Larry E. (Debbie) Stevens of Busti; five grandchildren: Nicole Stevens, Cali Stevens and Chelsea (Andy) Schultz, all of Busti, Stephanie (Chris) Woodfield of Vero Beach, Fla., and Rodney (Marcie) Austin of Jamestown; and a sister, Dorothy Hamelink of Greenville, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence H. Stevens, whom she married Dec. 29, 1950, and who died Dec. 4, 2004; a daughter, Debra Lou Austin, who died in 2011; and a brother, Charles Hinderer.
