Parents: Charles "Gus" Ambrose and Ida V. Bales Ambrose.

Clyde loved to watch old movies especially John Wayne. He was an avid reader of old western stories. Over the past few years he was doing genealogy; always finding someone new he was related to.

His grandparents settled and helped establish Yoncalla, Oregon, in the mid 1800s. This is where Clyde grew up until he joined the armed forces. He served two tours in the Navy, 1943-1946 and again in 1948-1952.

In 1957 he joined the Air Force and served until he retired in 1970. He was a member of the War Birds.

In death, he will be joining his family: his parents; five brothers and three sisters.

Clyde is survived by daughters: Patricia Miller and her husband Ray and their children; Trudy Kuntz and her husband Jim and their children; nephews and best friends, Larry Gillam and Dave Gillam; niece, Beverly Shapley and her daughter Shawna and their family; great nieces, Rosanna Gillam and her family and Nicole Schulke Dubois and her family; and numerous relatives across the U. S.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses at 11 a.m., viewing from 9 - 10:30 a.m. prior to service. He will later be laid to rest with part of his family in Yoncalla.
