Freed from the chains of mortal flesh by the grace of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, Kenny, 62, died at his home in Gonzales on Saturday, April 23, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation at Sorrento Baptist Church on Saturday, April 30, from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Eugene Gullett. Kenny is survived by his wife, Rebecca Haptonstall Floyd; daughter, Tori Floyd Siears and spouse Kenny; two sons, Todd Floyd and spouse Shelley, and Jeffrey Floyd; mother, Nellie Jewell Mims; two sisters, Julia Paulette Floyd, and Dee Mims Lanoux and spouse Duane; two brothers, Donald Floyd and spouse Margie, and Wayne Floyd and spouse Gail; four grandchildren, Samantha Siears, Kade Siears, Aaron Floyd and Lauren Floyd; niece, Tiffany Wheat Kiernan; and eight nephews, Ken Floyd, Randall Floyd, Steven Floyd, Chris Floyd, Matt Floyd, Jake Lanoux, Alex Lanoux and Zack Lanoux. Preceded in death by his father, Ernest King Floyd; and brother, Ira Douglas Floyd. In 2005, Kenny retired from the Office of State Printing where he worked at various positions over 32 years. He was a generous and loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. The family would like to give special thanks to St. Josephs Hospice for their loving support during Kenny's final days.
