Billy G. Orr, 74, died Feb. 24 at his home in Truth or Consequences. Mr. Orr was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Texas to J.V. and Mamie (Beck) Orr. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired lineman for the Central New Mexico Electric Cooperative. He was a resident of TorC since 1991 and was very active in the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn M. Orr of the family home; a daughter, Kayla J. Ellsbury of Carlsbad; a son, Kevin H. and wife Kellie Orr of Los Lunas and his son, C.J. and wife Jennifer Newman; one grandchild, Lee H. and wife Brandy Ellsbury of Carlsbad; one great-grandson, Kaydence Ellsbury; and two brothers, Jack and wife Sandra Orr of Holland, Ohio, and Jimmy and wife Martha Orr of Santa Fe.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Monte Ernest Orr and Glen Orr, and two sisters, Anna Leigh Orr and Erlene Grimm.

Services were held Friday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Shon A. Wagner officiating. Interment followed at the Eastview Cemetery in Torrance County with Doris Jaquess officiating. French Mortuary, T or C.
