Ruby Pearl Graham Sims of Ocean Springs, MS, age 86, died Thursday, December 19, 2013.

Ruby, beloved wife, mother, and teacher, was born in Decatur, MS (Newton Cty), April 11, 1927 and lived in Ocean Springs since 1968. She received a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Ruby attended First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs and was a Sunday School Teacher and Director, as well a volunteer in other areas such as the Red Cross. She also loved to garden and cook for others. In her youth she was a star basketball player.
Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Sims; her parents, Charlie and Lillie Graham; a son-in-law, Robert MacInnis and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Jean (Jim) McCarthy, Judy Ann MacInnis, and Janet Lea (Ellis) Phifer; grandchildren, Margaret, Tom, and Edward McCarthy, J.J. Cleveland, Candice Lehman, Tracie Bruni, Lauren and Aaron Phifer; and great-grandchildren, Thomas, Timothy, and Camille Cleveland, Mackenzie and Samantha Lehman, Colton, Cooper, Lexi and Cohen Bruni.
Charitable donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, MS with Funeral service to be held at 11:30 a.m. also at First Baptist Church followed by internment at 12:30 p.m., Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
