Ada Valoy Anderson Cox was born in Castle Dale, Utah on Thursday, November 15, 1923 to Ervin Andrew Anderson and Naomi Asay Anderson Jensen.

She married Kenneth S. Cox on July 21, 1942 in the Manti LDS Temple. They lived at the corner of 300 South and 500 East in Castle Dale.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Castle Dale First Ward. She fulfilled many callings, including Primary President, Stake positions, and Relief Society positions. She and her sweetheart also served as temple workers in the Manti Temple.

She worked for several years as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after twenty-five years of service as the U.S. Post Master in Ferron, Utah.

Family was her life. We could have all lived with her and she would have been fine. She was a great example to us all. Her Christ-like unconditional love was given to all with no exceptions. She was the epitome of Christ's example when he admonished us to "love one another, as I have loved you."

A little over a month after turning ninety, Valoy passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Beehive Home in Salem, Utah. She had been in ill health for several years.

She left behind four children, Kenneth Eugene (Rosemary) Cox of Bountiful, Utah; Carol Ann (Richard) Duncan of Payson, Utah; Ervin Dean (Christine) Cox of Hurricane, Utah; and Peggy (Bruce) Anderson of Castle Dale, Utah; eighteen grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was also survived by her two sisters, Janone Richards and Shanna Lea Bates, and brother, Jack Asay. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one granddaughter, Traci Cox.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Castle Dale Stake Center located at 35 East Main Street in Castle Dale. A viewing was held on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
Following the conclusion of the services, Valoy was laid to rest in the Castle Dale City Cemetery beside her husband, sister, Doreen; and cousin, Jessie Jane.
REST IN PEACE.
