Kathy Hicks Perkins, age 58 of Warriormine, WV died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at her home. Born July 30, 1955 in Allegheny County, MI, she was a daughter of Edna O'Della Ward Hicks of Warriormine, WV and the late Ivol Hicks. Kathy was a homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was very active in the work of the Lord. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Dean Hicks; and niece, Karrie Anne Hicks.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Steve Perkins; two sons, Thomas Perkins and Seth Perkins both of Warriormine, WV; one daughter, Lisa Baker and husband, David of North Wilkesboro, NC; three sisters, Ineace Reed of War, WV, Karen Hicks and husband, John W. Hicks of Dublin, VA and Janice Henley and husband, Clarence P. Henley of Jacobs Fork, WV; three brothers, Kenneth E. Hicks of Greenville, TN, Gary Hicks and wife, Darlene of Horsepen, VA, Ivol Hicks, Jr. and wife, Mary Jane of Warriormine, WV; special "sis" Ruth Baker of Knoxville, TN; two grandchildren, Tyler Baker and Colton Baker of North Wilkesboro, NC; special cousin, Marsha Cortaway of Guthrie, OK; and special sister in law, Joann Muncy of Tazewell, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Johnny Muncy and the Reverend Douglas Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Hartwell Cemetery at Hartwell, WV. Pallbearers will be Adam Henley, Colton Baker, Tyler Baker, Seth Perkins, Johnny Hicks, and Lawrence Muncy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Friday, December 20, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to the funeral home to help toward the funeral.
