Donna F. Davenport passed away December 14, 2013 at Longmont United Hospital. She was born October 27, 1945 in Julesburg, CO to Alvin and Agnes (Mildrew) Whitten.
She grew up in Julesburg, Colorado, and was a 1964 graduate of Julesburg High School. Donna married Denny Davenport on April 23, 1996 on the island of Oahu, Hawaii and they moved to Longmont in 1998. Donna was employed for many years as a bookkeeper by Sierra Company, a Boulder property management firm and also worked part-time as a beautician at Golden West Assisted Living. Donna was always thinking about and caring for others, which she expressed in many ways including being a caregiver for her mother. She loved and cherished her nieces and nephews, for whom she was like a second mother and enjoyed many hours of time spent together. She was well organized and everything had its place. Donna and Denny enjoyed traveling, often to reunions for Denny's Navy submarine veterans club. She enjoyed reading as a pastime. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Roger and Arthur Whitten, and husband Denny on June 11, 2012. Donna is survived by two brothers, seven nieces and nephews and their children; she also had two sisters-in-laws, and many close friends who considered her family.
Donna was cremated as per her request and laid to rest next to her beloved Denny at Fort Logan National Cemetery, on Thursday12/19/13. There will be a Celebration of her life to be held @ 1:00pm Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
