Roger Dale Lawson, 70, of Mineral, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday November 26, 2015.He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on April 21, 1945 to the late Clarence O'Neil Lawson and Ruby Lucille Adkins Lawson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Clarence O'Neil Lawson Jr., Shirley Lawson, Mildred Lawson, and Barbara Helman. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice Patricia Lawson; by their children, Wendy Faye Lawson, Roger Dwayne Lawson and his wife, Bridgett, Jeffrey Allen Lawson, and Amy Renee Lawson Cauthorne and her husband, Kenneth. He is also survived by two brothers, Andrew Lawson and Lewis Lawson, along with ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Roger had worked as a welder for many years and was an avid fan of the Cavaliers, collecting baseball cards, and classic country music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather. A stranger to none and a friend to all. He loved the lord and was a witness to many. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. December 2, 2015. at Hill and Wood Funeral Home, with Mr. Lawson's brother, Lewis and Pastor Bill Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home.
