Jasmine Renae Bailey was born on April 6, 1989, at Broward General Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. On December 5, 2013, Jasmine so tenderly and quietly took her final rest.

Jasmine was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia since birth and has advo¬cated through her own personal challenges. She has strived to make a dif¬ference for children diagnosed with sickle cell anemia. Her dream was to help find a cure for sickle cell anemia and support those that are affected by the disease.

During her brief time on earth Jasmine excelled and achieved in a vast array of accomplishments which included graduating from Blanch Ely High School and attending Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, Florida. Over the years, Jasmine was involved in a variety of volunteer services throughout her community such as, becoming a Candy Striper to help others and volunteering for the Southern Regional Sickle Cell Center. Along with a plethora of volunteer services, she also participated in vari¬ous activities such as S.T.O.P. (Students Taking a stand On Prevention) and Russell Simmons's Brave New Voices. Through her talent she be¬came South Florida's finalist in the counties' poetry slam competition.

As a result of her civil and extramural activities, Jasmine was awarded and recognized for her participation in many activities, hobbies, and services. She has received numerous student of the month awards, 4 first place Latin trophies, fifth place in the Unites States Conference on AIDS poetry contest, Young Ladies of Etiquette "Ms. Photogenic" and recognized as being an Unsung Hero.

Her Mother, Tracey Latasha Bailey preceded her in death. She is survived by her: Father- James F. Griffin II (Adrienne): Sisters-Janese Ethridge, Se'maj and A.D. Griffin; Brothers- Sergeant Julius A.M. Griffin and James F. Griffin III; Grandparents- Annie Shy , Abe Shy, Ernest and Viola Fuller; Aunts -Robin McNear, Terry Benjamin, Erica Gardner, Dr. Angie L. Bailey, Avis Arrington, Andrea Brooks, and Amy Fuller; Great Aunts- Betty Chance (late Clarence), Pastor Charlie Mae Carpenter (late Michael) and Carolyn Griffin; Uncles - Robert Bailey, Willie Arrington, Charles McNear, Brain Gardner and Roderick Fuller ; Great Uncle-Samuel Johnson; Nieces- Nigeria Lawrence, Lyndsey Bailey, Kenya Benjamin, Damita Bailey; Nephews- Brandon Arrington, Kendrick Benjamin, Charles Brown.
