GOODING - Henry James Robinson was born June 24, 1935, in Gooding, Idaho, to Edwin Stuart and Mildred Robinson. He passed peacefully into heaven at 4:25 p.m. Dec. 20, 2013, at Bennett Hills Nursing Home in Gooding, Idaho, surrounded by his family.

Henry began his education, with all of his wonderful, lifelong friends in the "Class of ‘53" at the Gooding Elementary school, and graduated with the same amazing crowd from the old high school in Gooding in May of 1953.

Henry loved to play sports, and he competed in high school football, basketball, and track. An acknowledgement of his great athletic ability was his appointment to the All State Football Team, playing guard, for his senior year of high school. After graduation from GHS, Henry enrolled at the University of Idaho, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then enrolled at the University of Washington School Of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1961 with a DDS degree.

Soon hereafter, Dr. H. J. Robinson returned to Gooding and began practicing dentistry in a dental office started by his father. Henry continued his dental practice for more than 45 years, when he retired to spend more time with his hobbies and his family.

Soon after moving back to Gooding, Henry met Deloris Cheslik. He was able to convince Deloris that she needed some help raising her four young children, Fred, David, Mark and Belinda. He further convinced her that she was "the one" and they were married April 24, 1965. It wasn't long before this new family welcomed Bradley James Robinson into their happy home.

Henry, (nicknames Doc, Doc Robby, or in his younger years Hank) loved to hunt, golf, bowl, play bridge, pinochle and poker, and spend time fishing and playing board games and cards at his "cabin," located north of Sun Valley, Idaho, along Baker Creek. Doc Robby was a member of the Rotary Club International, the American Dental Association, the Gooding Golf Association, and the Elks Club, where he was honored to serve as the Exalted Ruler of the Gooding Elks No. 1745.

Hank was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bradley; brother, Russell; and sister, Betty Emmerson.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Rylas; his wife of 48 years, Deloris; sons, Charles Frederick Cheslik (wife, Christine), David Reed Cheslik (wife, Tammy) and Mark Cheslik (wife, Debi); his daughter, Belinda Schumacher (husband, Craig); grandchildren, Melissa Ann Jarvis, Eric Reed Cheslik, Lynsey Lee Cheslik, Heather Rose Meuser, Crystal Brooke Schumacher, Josiah James Schumacher, Josiah Harrison Cheslik, Emily Vanessa Cheslik and Sarah Ann Cheslik; and great-grandchildren, Aubree Ann Campbell, Bo Campbell, Jax Campbell, Sahtira Cheslik, Ashtyn Cheslik, Pepper Jarvis, Anne Meuser and Krischan Meuser.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the United Methodist Church in Gooding. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Gooding.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service, Gooding Chapel.
