Harold Karl Farmer was born May 13, 1907 at Lorimor, the son of Charles and Mary Johnson Farmer.

He attended school at Clarion and graduated from high school there.

He then entered into the operation of a restaurant in Clarion and later in Eagle Grove, where he operated Farmer's Cafe for a number of years.

He has been employed in the State Liquor Store for the past 14 years and was manager of the store at the time of his death.

He was united in marriage to Alice Wilcox of Eagle Grove at Eagle Grove on December 16, 1936 and the couple became the parents of a daughter, Glenda.

Harold died suddenly at his home on December 29, at the age 62 years, 7 months, and 13 days.

He is survived by his wife, Alice, his daughter Glenda (Mrs. Paul Epps) of Des Moines; two sisters: Mrs. William Ferguson of Clarion and Mrs. Merle Bangs of Dows and three grandsons.

He was a member of The United Church of Christ of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. December 31, 1969, at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home with Rev. Emmett Braselton of the United Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove.
