On Tuesday Morning, Dec. 17, 2013, Heavens gates opened wide for James E. Anderson: Pastor, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. The service celebration his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Dec. 21, at Greater Faith community church, 417 Wesley St. in Brownwood. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held From 6-8 p.m. Friday at Brownwood Funeral Home, 2512 Belle plain Ave.

He was born Aug. 20, 1951, in Stamford, Texas, to Cicero and Frances Norman Anderson. He was a 1970 Graduate of Rule High School in Rule, Texas. He attended Howard Payne University for two years and then enlisted in the U. S. Army and was Honorably Discharged Aug. 13, 1979, after which he returned to Brownwood. He continued his education at Howard Payne and received a Bachelor of Science degree. He was married to Linda Perot Oct.13, 1978, in Brownwood and they made their home in Coleman, Texas.

James life was filled with church, family, and work. Most of his married life he worked at least two jobs. He loved officiating softball, baseball, and football games. He had been a teacher at Brownwood Intermediate School, and had worked for Texas Youth Commission. He worked at Texas Bank as a teller and for many years at Allsups Convenience store in Bangs. He worked at both places until his health prevented him from doing so. James always made sure his family was well provided for and his daughter would know that they were spoiled. If anyone said they needed something-he would give his last.

James and his wife, Linda pastored True Vine Baptist Church in coleman for over 20 years. He was Licensed at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brownwood in 1972, and ordained in 1990. He would tell his church members "I do not want you to appear to be together, I want you to be together."

He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Linda Perot Anderson of Bangs; three daughters, Sabrina Jackson (Barry of McDonough, Ga., Latoya Anderson of Waco and LaTrina Anderson Jones (Jacoby) of Converse, Texas; two sons, James Anderson Jr. of Brownwood, Texas, and Jarrett Anderson of Bangs; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; half sister, Stella Franklin of Stamford, Texas; a number of cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives; and many friends and his True Vine Baptist Church family.

He was preceded in death by both his parents.

His memory may be honored with a gift in his name to True Vine Baptist Church in Coleman, Texas, 700 E. 1st St., Coleman, Texas, 76834. All services under the direction of Brownwood Funeral Home and Cremations.
