Services for Mary Wilhelmina Martino, 72, Winterset who died Feb. 16 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center where she resided, were held Tuesday Feb. 18 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Pottawattamie County Dec. 1, 1913, she was the daughter of William and Paulina Thompson Marxen. A homemaker, she lived most of her lifetime in Madison County and most recently was a resident of the Bethesda Care Center.

She was married to Suel Snelson and Ernest Martino, both of whom are deceased.

Survivors include a son, Gene Snelson of Winterset; a brother, George Marxen of Winterset; sisters, Martha Kirkpatrick (a twin sister) of Des Moines, Margaret Hulin and Ella Willms, both of Atlantic; two grandchildren, Cindy Wright and Susan Stephenson; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers.
