Peggy Hopkins, 80, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away December 18th at Barren County Heath Care Center.
She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and a retired nurse, having worked as a nursing assistant at TJ Sampson community hospital and home health for many years. After retiring, she worked at Goodies and Weldon memorial library. Everywhere she worked she was known for her caring and considerate nature.
Peggy was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to everyone she met. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and known to most people simply as "Nana."
She was born July 25th, 1933 in Eldorado, Texas, fourth child of the late Ethel and Ross McAngus. She married the late Bobby Hopkins in July of 1954 and moved to Kentucky. She is preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and an infant son.
She is survived by her four children: Cindy Garrett of Temple Hill; Curtis Hopkins of Evansville, Indiana; Dusty Hopkins of Madison, Alabama; David Hopkins of Seattle, Washington. Four grandchildren: Amy Hammer and Ashley Wood of Temple Hill; Lacey Hopkins of Washington D.C.; Erin Hopkins of Raleigh, North Carolina. Two great-grandchildren, Brooke Hammer and Bradyn Wood of Temple Hill. Her sisters, Bonnie Hooker of San Angelo, Texas; Mimi Sackedis of Columbus, New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Sunday, December 22nd, at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home, with burial at Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12pm Saturday at the funeral home.
