Lela Payne Horn

Mrs. Lela Payne Horn, 83, of Chatsworth, passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at her residence.

She was a member of Homeland Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing.

Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her mother, Julie Ensley Payne; father, Mancil C. Payne; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara and Erwin Collette, and Hester and Wesley Queen; sister, Ethel Payne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Bernice Payne, Olin and Carrie Payne, and Luther and Della Payne; nephew, Harry Collette; and niece, Margie Payne;

Survivors include Wyman L. Horn of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila A. and Sam Hughes of Dalton; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Louise Horn of Cleveland, Tenn., Wilma Freeman of Cleveland, Tenn., and Allie Mae Payne of Rocky Face; grandchild and spouse, Paul and Brittany Hughes; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Hughes, Jagger Hughes, Griffin Hughes, Kinsey Bohannon and Tyler Bohannon; nephews and spouses, Robert and Mary Payne of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, C.W. and Ann Queen of Dalton, LaVern and Darlene Payne of High Point, N.C., and Bobby Queen of Dalton; and nieces and spouses, Barbara and Steve Mohac of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Elizabeth Ann and Wayne Carroll of Chatsworth, and Sadie Rogers of Chatsworth.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Horn will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Poteet officiating.

Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery in Dalton.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Peeples Funeral Home.

Peeples Funeral Home and Crematory of Chatsworth is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Horn.
