Mildred Hammock Adkins passed away today, December 19, 2013, at the home of her son. Miss Mildred was 90 years old, spent her entire life in Pittsylvania County, Virginia and was a proud member of Anne Eliza Johns Chapter 164, Virginia Division. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Hammock who enlisted in the 57th Virginia Infantry Regiment, Company E of the Confederate States Army in 1863.

Visitation will be 6:30-8:00 PM on Friday, December 20, at the Norris Funeral Services West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, December 21, at the North Danville Church of Christ, 519 Iris Lane, Danville, Virginia. Interment will follow at the Adkins Family Cemetery, 1233 Wynell Road, Callands, Virginia.
