George D Mill, 63, past president of the Hoo Hoo Lumbermen's association and a veteran lumberman, died of cancer Tuesday at West Allis Memorial hospital.
Mr Mill, of 9135 W. Manitoba Ave, West Allis, returned to the city last May from St Paul, MN, when ill health forced his retirement. For 15 years he was a district representative here for the Weyerhaeuser Co., a Tacoma (WA) lumber firm. He became sales manager for the company's distribution facility at St. Paul about 10 years ago. Mr. Mill previously had worked in Zanesville, OH. He was a native of Waterloo,IA.
He was a member of the Twin Cities Elks club and of the Society for the preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite; a daughter, Mrs Thelma Sowatzke, West Allis; a son, Ralph, Louisville,KY; two sisters, Mrs Amy Yardley, Langley,B.C., and Mrs Jennie McKenzie, Esteven, Sasl., and a brother, Fred, Seattle,WA.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Followed by burial. The body will be at Koelsch funeral home, 7626 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday and at the park chapel from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
