Karen E. "Kay" Hutchison, age 72, of Council Bluffs, passed away December 18, 2013, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, surrounded by her loving family.
Kay was born August 18, 1941, in Council Bluffs to the late Charles and Helen (Fickel) Stevens. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1959. Kay married Ray Hutchison on May 13, 1961, in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with four children, Rick, Teresa, Traci and Teri. Kay worked as a secretary for the Council Bluffs Community School District for 29 years, retiring in 2003.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Stevens, Sr.
Kay is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ray Hutchison; son Rick Hutchison; daughters, Teresa (Dave) Griffith, Traci (Tim Whannell) Allen all of Council Bluffs, Teri (Tracey) Landen of Underwood, IA; 7 grandchildren: Dustin (Angie) Griffith, Ben and Kelsey Allen, Allyson, Rachel and Regan Landen, Marie Hutchison, 1 great granddaughter, Tenley Griffith; brother, Mike (Mary Ellen) Stevens of Council Bluffs; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews and many friends.
