Sgt. Major Scott B. Ford, (Retired), 69, of The Villages, Florida and formerly of Corbin, died April 10, 2010 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. Scott was a Cold War Veteran, serving two tours (6 years) on the East/West Border in Germany. He also served three tours during the Vietnam War. Scott was a model soldier and highly praised by his superiors. His awards and citations include: a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, two Army Commendation Medals, Good Conduct (5th award) Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Cross of Gallantry, and National Defense Service Medal.
