ALEXIS ~ Della Mae Burgin, 91, was a daughter of the late Finley M. Burgin and Effie McAlister Burgin. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lily B. Newton, Lorena B. Vernon, and Mabel B. Stanley, and four brothers, Thurman Burgin, Luther Burgin, Marvin Burgin and Austin Burgin.
She was a member of Alexis Baptist Church. She was very active in Alexis Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Senior Citizens. She was the secretary for Sunday school for 50 years and she loved gardening.
She is survived by three sisters, Penta B. Love of St. Simmons, GA, Betty B. Sherer and Lela B. Nixon, both of Denver, NC and one brother, Coy Burgin of Alexis, NC and many nieces and nephews that she helped raise.
Interment in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
E. F. Drum Funeral Home is serving the Burgin family.
