GATES, Rhonda A. Age 55, of Dayton answered the Lord's call to serve in His army on Thursday, October 6, 2005 after a long earthly battle with lung disease. She was a native Daytonian, graduate of Dunbar High School, class of 1968, received her degree from Garfield School of Nursing, furthered her education at Sinclair Community College, and was licensed LPN; she was a dedicated employee at Project C.U.R.E. for the past 23 yrs.
She is preceded in death by her devoted step-father, Theodore W. Gates; father, Armond Meachum Sr.; grandparents, Phillip and Evalee Epps. Survivors include her mother, Mary M. Lark; aunt, Delores (Herbert) Hines; children, Crystal R. (Jesse) Black and Ry-Ann D. Gates; grandchildren, Anthony, Annesia, Roderick and Rion; siblings, Glenn (Stephanie) Gates, Gary (Kim) Gates, Robin (Rueben) Scott and Retha D. Gates; grandmother, Minarah Clark and a host of other relatives and friends.
