Phil Hochhalter, who operated a service station for many years in Southeast Portland, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Born in Worms, Russia, Feb. 6, 1894, Mr. Hochhalter migrated to the United States in 1900. He came to Portland in 1942 and lived at 6323 SE 20th Ave.
Survivors include two daughters, Cherry M. Gross and Hilda Hochhalter of Portland; a son Howard R., Portland; two sisters, Elizabeth Frey, Spokane, and Alvina Engelgau, Portland; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Immanuel Lutheran Church with vault interment in Zion Cemetery, Canby.
The family suggest that remembrances be contributions to the Lutheran Retreat or Lutheran Hour.
