Woodward, Okla. — Alice Maxine Heath, 85 year old Woodward resident, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the Grace Living Center in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Alice Maxine Heath was born September 15, 1928 at the family home at 1503 Texas; she was the third of seven children born to Hugh and Lelah May Heath. She graduated high school in 1948. Maxine found her life's calling becoming an LPN. She worked for 30 years at the Woodward Memorial Hospital and High Plains Baptist in Amarillo. Maxine loved being a nurse. On June 12, 1957, she welcomed her only son Tommy Joe into this world. She retired from nursing in 1992.

Maxine loved working in flower beds and listening to country music. She received great joy listening to George Jones music, loved her grandson and was thrilled to attend his wedding. Survivors include one son Tommy Heath and wife Kim of Woodward; one grandson Gage and wife Heather; two brothers, Frank of Anna, Texas; Landon and wife Joann of Moore; one sister-in-law, Betty Heath; a close friend who she thought of like a son, Ben Holt; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Lelah; three brothers, Lawrence Buddy Heath, Hugh Heath Jr., Donald Hoover; one sister, Dorothy; one sister-in-law, Fern Heath; one brother-in-law Ralph Maybee. Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church building fund with the funeral home accepting the donations.
