Mrs. Martha P. Hardman, wife of Joel Hardman, residing in Lancaster twp, died Saturday, August 20, 1898, after a short illness with typhoid fever. Her age was 42 yrs. 9 mos and 11 days. She was the mother of four children. Levi, Roscoe, Clara and Grace, who with her husband are left to mourn the death of a kind and loving mother and a faithful wife. Mrs. Hardman was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Winebrenner (decreased) and was well known in Lancaster twp. where she has spent the greater part of her life. She was highly esteemed by all of her acquaintances. The funeral was held this Monday afternoon, leaving the house at 11 o'clock for the German Baptist Church at Lancaster, where the interment was made.
