Lemuel married Polly Ann Brown about 1831 and moved from Perquimans, North Carolina to Ray County Missouri between 1835-1836.
In 1855 Lemuel had purchased land in Fannin County Texas and by 1860 he had moved his family to Texas where he stayed the remainder of his life.
Lemuel was a physician and also a farmer.
Of the eight children they had together John and Sarah were born in North Carolina and both married and stayed in Missouri.The rest of the children were born in Missouri and came and stayed in Texas.
