John Wesley Adams passed away quietly, surrounded by his family Dec 17.2013. Wesley lived his entire life on his beloved ranch in south Brown County. Wesley was married to Velma Lee Gilbreath for over 70 years. Velma never left his side during his illness.
Wesley is survived by Velma. his four sons, Wayne and wife Jennifer. Kenneth and wife Vicki. Howard and his wife Yvette. and Steve and his wife Valery. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.serving all pallbearers will be his four sons alone with Edwin Russell. Glen Bush. Ramey Sparks. Pall Station. and Gary Huddleston.
Funeral services were held at 10 AM Friday December 20 in the Heart Land Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Winchell Cemetery.
Heart Land Funeral Home was in Charge of the services.
Many years ago I used to go fish in one of Mr Adams tanks. I also caught really good fish and he always came and we had a visit while fishing. one time it was in the winter time and my brother in law went to fish in Mr Adams tank.so we built a good fire close to the water so we would stay warm. little did we know that we had built a fire right over some under ground water pipes that he had put there to pump water from the tank..we caught our fish and put out the fire and went home. not long after we got home he called us and told us what we had done. we loaded up and went back and did the repair and Mr Adams just laughed.
I had known Mr Adams for a really long time and this world needs more people like him. a true friend and He will be missed by all who knew him.
