Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m., in St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. A.L.C. Keller officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Eddy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born July 5, 1924, at Litchville, Mr. Haugen was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Haugen. He attended rural Litchville school, was graduated from Litchville High School and attended Valley City State Teachers College. He taught rural schools for a couple of years. His marriage to Louisa Ella Wegner took place on August 12, 195 1. Mr. Haugen worked for the S and L Store in Valley City for two years and then moved to Jamestown where he was employed for a time at the Fair Store, Solien’s Men’s Store and Wehler’s Family Shoe Store. In 1969 he began employement with the Jamestown Sun as advertising consultant, the position he held at the time of his death.
Mr. Haugen was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, served as a deacon, and taught Sunday School. He was also active in Boy Scout Troop 187 in Jamestown.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Terry at home; one brother, Clifford Haugen, Fargo; and two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Hodem, LaMoure, and Mrs. Walter Sand (Hazel), Everett, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons, three brothers and two sisters.

RITES HELD TUESDAY FOR E. HAUGEN TWIN BOYS [Originally buried at North LaMoure Cemetery, Exhumed.
Twin boys, born prematurely on Thursday to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Haugen, Jamestown, died Sunday morning at the Jamestown Hospital. They were born within seven minutes of each other and death came to both on Sunday, it being only a few minutes between the passing of the first and second. Mr. and Mrs. Haugen have lived in Valley City, where Mr. Haugen was employed at the Fair Store. They were both well known in Litchville, Mr. Haugen being raised at North LaMoure.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday with Rev. Kristensen in charge. Burial was made in the North LaMoure cemetery.
