Tommy Lee Hyde was born on January 8, 1959, in Sikeston, Missouri to the union of Davie Hyde, Sr., and Emma Lee Kye-Hyde.
Tommy departed this life on Wednesday morning, December 4, 2013, at his resident, where he resided with special nephew, David Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Hyde, his father and mother, Davie Hyde, Sr. and Emma Lee Kye-Hyde, and his brothers, David Hyde, Jr., Johnny C. Hyde, Luther Hyde, and Nelson Davis Hyde.
Tommy grew from child into manhood in East St. Louis, Illinois, where he graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School. He later moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he resided. He confessed in Christ at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Centreville, Illinois, Pastor Christopher Malone. His final church home was with Greater Mt. Zion, Pastor Joseph Frazier.
Tommy was a people person and he loved everyone. A man with a lot of strength and faith he was a strong black that everybody loved. He had a passion for working on cars and cooking. He was employed at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and retired from St. Luke's Hospital.
Mr. Tommy Lee Hyde leaves to cherish his memories, four brothers: Prentice Hyde (Maggie), Bobby Hyde (Grace) both of East St. Louis, Illinois, Freddie Hyde (Linda) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Richard Hyde of Centreville, Illinois; three sisters: Sarah Hampton, Betty Thompson (Robert) both of Kansas City, Missouri, and Monica Hyde (Julius) of Centreville, Illinois; two step-children, Kavonna and Toya of Missouri; twenty-six nieces and nephews; fifty-seven great-nieces and nephews; three aunts; and a host of cousin and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Tommy Lee Hyde will be held on Friday, December 13, 1:00 p.m. Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 4600 Cleveland.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at The Church.
Interment, Brooking Cemetery.
