RUEBEN A. WEGNER

Rueben A. Wegner, age 90, of N3395 County Highway T, Chilton, died on Friday, June 8, 2007, at his home in the town of Charlestown.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1916 in Collins, son of the late Adolf and Bertha (Gother) Wegner. He married Clara Starfeldt on Oct. 26, 1938 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Collins. She preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 1987. He farmed the family farm in Collins and worked for the Aluminum Specialty Company in Chilton. Rueben was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Collins.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie (Charles) Schuknecht of Chilton; 4 grandchildren, Dan Schuknecht and his wife Carmela Diosana of Madison, Steve (Kallie) Schuknecht of Milwaukee, Megan Schuknecht of Missoula, MT, Jess (Katherine) Schuknecht of Madison; a brother, Arnold Wegner of West Allis; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend Helen Bladow of Chilton. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter; 3 sisters, Irene Koopman, Ida Gierke, Myrtle Behnke; and a brother Arthur Wegner.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2007, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2501 Collins Road in rural Chilton, with the Rev. Robert P. Hankwitz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St., in Chilton, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday and again at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Rueben Wegner.
