Jefferson City Daily Capital News (MO) - Page 1 - March 31, 1933:

Mrs. Anna Mary Braun, 82, widow of the late Richard Braun and a resident of the Wardsville community for more than a half century, died at 12:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the family home following an illness of three weeks of pneumonia.

Mrs. Braun was born in St. Louis Nov. 7, 1850, and grew to young womanhood there. On May 30, 1876, she was wed to Richard Braun in this city. The couple purchased a farm at Wardsville and continued to live there the remainder of their lives, approximately 55 years.

Two sons, Henry Braun of Wardsville and Frank Braun of Folk, and four daughters, Mrs. Ben Prenger of Taos and Mrs. John Stockman, Mrs. Joseph Sommer and Miss Lena Braun, all of the Wardsville vicinity, survive. Two brothers, Martin Hanenkamp of St. Louis and Antone Hannekamp of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hartman and Miss Margaret Hanenkamp, both of here, also survive along with 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Braun died last summer.

The body was brought to the Heinrichs Funeral Home and will be returned to the family residence today at noon. Funeral services will be conducted from the Wardsville Catholic Church Saturday morning at 9 o'clock by the Rev. Father Joseph Vogelweid and burial will be in the family lot in the church cemetery there.
