Dennis Lyons, age 80 of Payne Road, Lexington passed away Tuesday night at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday at Union Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Fletcher and T.W. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel from 6:0 until 8:00 pm Friday night and at other times at home.

Dennis was born in Bryan County, Georgia April 25, 1933 to Herman and Beulah Hamilton Lyons. He was retired from Lyons Cleaners; a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Johnny and Carlton Lyons.

Surviving are, his wife, Gentry Pope Lyons of the home; sons, Dennis Blain Lyons (Susan) of Hickory; Terry Dean Lyons (Stacy) of Clemmons; grandchildren, Cory, Matthew, Daniel, Sean and Jordan; sister, Gayle Beck (Doug) of Lexington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103
