Eastaboga - A celebration of life service for Johnny Borden Rogers, 88, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Steve Dunaway and Wayne Carden officiating.

Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include his daughters, Rita Rogers Roberts with husband, Charlie of Anniston and Kay Rogers Ray with husband, John of Eastaboga; son, Mike Rogers with wife Kitty of Lineville; four grandchildren, Michael Rogers (Melissa), Johnny Ray, Michelle Lipham (Matt) and Kevin Ray; seven chosen grandchildren, Tammy Conway (Brian), Sandy Harris, Scott Turner (Bridgett), Donna Carlson (Martin), Jonda Horst (Frankie), Doug Roberts (Crissy) and Jeff Roberts; eighteen great-grandchildren, which include his special ones, Jon Michael Rogers, Anna Ray, Dexter Headrick, Chase Ray, Josh Lipham, Grace Lipham and Cole Ray; two great-great-grandchildren; in-laws, Maggie Rogers, Margaret Rogers Valine, Inaree Carden, Virginia Cole, Pat Thrasher (Bryan) and Maylon Forbus (Thelma) and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Forbus Rogers; grandson, Dustin Morgan; son-in-law, Wayne Bolton; parents, John Cliff and Ivory Smith Rogers; siblings and their spouses, James "Peanut" Rogers, Hubert "Bum" Rogers, Charles "Doc" Rogers, Pauline "Polly" and Jake Autrey, Kathleen and Clarence Stewart, Morgan, Annie and Neva Rogers, Earlene and Gross Amerson, Jr. and sister-in-law, Doris Morrison. Pallbearers will be Stan Rogers, Steve Rogers, Larry Amerson, Pete Morrison, Robert Powers, and Ronnie Freeman Mr. Rogers was known to his friends as J.B. or "8-Ball" and was a native of Cleburne County and resident of Anniston and Eastaboga most of his life.

He served with the U. S. Navy in the Philippines during World War II. He was a special son, husband, father, granddaddy, brother and friend to everyone who knew him.

He was a member of West Anniston Baptist Church and was a retired owner/operator leased to Georgia Hwy Express/TRANSUS for many years. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice Foundation, 7801 Mesquite Bend Drive, Suite 105, Irving, TX 75063.
