Members of Julian Feild Masonic Lodge conducted burial ceremonies Friday morning at the grave of J. H. Armstrong, 69, Fort Worth lumberman, in Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral services were held Friday at 11 a.m. at his home, 607 West Second Street.
Rev. Eugene B. Hawk, pastor of the First Methodist Church, conducted the funeral services. Armstrong died Thursday at his residence. He had been in the lumber business here for 37 years. He was a member of Moslah Shrine Temple and Worth Commandery, Knights Templar and a charter member of Julian Feild Masonic Lodge. Armstrong was associated with the Kelsay Lumber Company at the time of his death.
Active pallbearers were W. H. Wallerich, H. P. Copeland, G. F. Bein, Shelby Owens, Harry Leeper and L. B. Curd. Honorary pallbearers were Willard Burton, R. E. Kelsay, Leon Gross, E. H. Keller, S. B. Cantey Jr., B. H. Martin, M. F. Winfrey, John E. Quarles, B. W. Owens, Walter B. Sloan and D. Hart.
Survivors are his wife, a son, Julian H. Armstrong Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. D. Hart Jr., all of Fort Worth; two sisters, Mrs. A. C. Becton, Fort Worth, and Mrs. S. A. Ashburn, Handley, and three brothers, Carl and Frank Armstrong, San Angelo, and John D. Armstrong, McAllen.
