William Habermann Sr., 68, town of Eaton retired farmer and active for years in church, school and town affairs, died Sunday afternoon at the farm home on route 1, Valders, after a year's illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Habermann home and at 2 o'clock at the St. Peters Lutheran church in Eaton, the Rev. Markus Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was born in 1881 on the farm home where he spent his entire life. In 1904 he married Miss Ernstine Yahnke.
He was an Eaton town officer for years and at one time represented the town on the county board. He was vice-president of the Gjerpen-Valders Telephone company at the time of his death and also served as president for a number of years.

He served several terms on the St. Peters Lutheran church board part of the time as president and was treasurer of school district No. 1, in which the Niles school is located. For 10 years he was employed by the county highway department as a highway patrolman.

Survivors are his wife; four sons, Raymond and Roland of route 3, Chilton, William Jr., now operating the home farm, and Rev. Elwood Habermann of route 1, Fairfax, Minn.; mother, Mrs. Augusta Habermann of route 4, Chilton; brother, August of route 4, Chilton; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore Krueger of route 4, Chilton, and Mrs. Charles Zutz of Collins.

The body may be viewed at the Habermann home from Tuesday evening until the hour of services.
