MYRTLE M BEHNKE

Myrtle M. Behnke, age 88, of the Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, formerly of Collins and Reedsville, died on Thursday, May 1, 2003.
She was born May 14, 1914, in the town of Eaton, daughter of the late Adolph and Bertha (Gother) Wegner. On July 11, 1934, she married Henry O. Behnke at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Collins. Henry preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1981.

Survivors include her children; Eugene (Nancy) Behnke, Reedsville; Marlene Cardinahl, Chilton; Dennis (Joyce) Behnke, Chilton; Beverly (Howard) Reimer, New Holstein; and a daughter-in-law; Mary Ann (Jerry) Runice, Berlin; 26 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren. Myrtle is further survived by two brothers; Rueben Wegner, Chilton; Arnold Wegner, West Allis; a brother-in-law; Paul Behnke, Brillion; three sisters-in-law; Elnora Graf, Brillion; Evelyn Kanter, Manitowoc; and Margaret Behnke, Grafton.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son; Rodney on Aug. 29, 1988; a great granddaughter; Ashley Schmitz on Feb. 16, 1987; two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Collins, The Rev. Robert Hankwitz will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
