TEXAS CITY-Mrs. Katherine (Palmer) Roughgarden, 78, of 2830
12th Ave. North, died Wednesday morning at Clear Lake Hospital in Webster. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, the Rev. Leo Smith officiating. Burial will be in Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

Mrs. Roughgarden was born Sept. 16, 1900, in Plantersville, Texas. A Texas City resident for 50 years, she was a housewife and a member of the Highlands Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert Palmer of Arcadia; two daughters, Deoma Richardson of Texas City and Aline Metzger of Alta Loma; two brothers, Rudolph Wisegerber of Texas City and Ralph Wisegerber of Dayton, Texas; three sisters, Maggie Harrison and Minnie Mares of Baytown and Lizzie D. Young of Beaumont; seven grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Transier, Frankie Bardwell, Marion Muehe, Clifford Muehe, Robert Palmer and George Gates.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
