Dorinda Ediger, 84, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Sunshine Meadows, Buhler. She was born March 7, 1929, in Ness City, the daughter of Paul Rohr and Ottilia Rohr. She was a Hutchinson resident most of her life. She was a graduate of the former St. Teresa's High School, she had retired from Hutchinson Community College in 2012.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Women of the Moose, where she was active in the College of Regents, and she was an avid KU Basketball fan.
On May 23, 1970, she married Theodore Ediger in Concordia. He died Feb. 4, 1999. Other survivors include: three daughters, Sharon McGhee (Jim), Hutchinson, Shelly Nemechek (Dave), Salina, and Robin Nobert (Bruce), Maricopa, Ariz.; stepchildren, Steve Ediger, Ben Ediger and Melba Meyer; sisters, Ellen Weatherly, Nixa, Mo., Lillian Youngers, Wichita, and Jean Rowland, Hutchinson; six grandchildren, Matt McGhee (Lori), Monica Denton (Abe), Brandi Bieber (Cory), Ashley Nusser (Justin), Ryan Nobert and Emily Wilkinson (Scott); and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Walter, Ernie and Vernie Rohr.
Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Holy Cross Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.
