MRS. FRANCES WILFAHRT.
Death claimed another well-known pioneer resident of Brown County, Friday, when Mrs. Frances Wilfahrt, nee Hauser, passed away at the home of her son, Fred Wilfahrt, North Broadway, at 11 o'clock that morning, following an illness of a few months, due to old age. She had been confined to her bed practically all of the time since becoming ill.
Deceased was born in Bohemia, Austria, about 81 years ago, and was married there to Joseph Wilfahrt, in the early 60's. The family came to America in 1868, directly to Brown county, and located on a farm in Sigel township. Mr. Wilfahrt preceded her in death some 30 years ago, and 10 years later she removed to New Ulm, having since made her home with the family of her son, Fred.
Of the 11 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilfahrt, five preceded the mother in death. The six children are: John Wilfahrt, Sr., Sigel township; Fred Wilfahrt, New Ulm; Mrs. Barbara Ellison, Faribault; Mrs. Ernest Weber, River Falls, Wis.; Sister Miltread, Williamsport, Pa. and Mrs. Edwin Dauer, Cottonwood. She also leaves 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren to mourn her demise.
Funeral services were conducted at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in this city, Monday morning at 9 o'clock, and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery here.
