Ellerslie, GA- William R. Jordan, Sr., Loving and selfless husband, daddy, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy, died at home surrounded by family on August 2, 2013 at age 84.
Richard, of Ellerslie, GA, was born July 31, 1929, son of the late G.J. and Sarah Jordan. He is survived by his darling wife of 59 years, Willie; sons, Ricky (Debbie) and Gary (Kathy), of Ellerslie, GA, and daughters, Janice (Lanier) Jordan of Newton, GA, and Frances (Mike) Graham of North Carolina. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Esther (Kevin), Emmett (Amber), Thomas, Megan (Billy), William (Candace), Lauren (Marshall), Amber (Caleb), Sara Beth (Matt), Justin (Julie), and James, eight great-grandchildren, five sisters, three brothers, dear nephew, Dan Jordan, Special Friend, Neil Gillis, among many other loved nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, and two brothers. He is a deeply respected man who always sacrificed for others, and he will be greatly missed. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August, 4, 2013 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. Interment will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 5, 2013 in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Sunday, at the funeral home.
