OBITUARY.
Newark, Mo., March 18.—Mary Francis [sic] Abbett was born May 10, 1860, died March 11.
Deceased was united in marriage to John C. Steffen, October 25, 1885. To this union were born three children, Everette of Quincy, Carl of La Belle, Mo., and a daughter, who died in infancy.
She was united with the Baptist church when a young girl. For 25 years she had been a teacher in the Sunday school of the Newark Baptist church. She was a faithful worker in the church as long as her health would permit. She was also a member of the Rebecca lodge.
She is survived by her husband, two children, three grandchildren and one brother, J. R. Abbett of Newark, Mrs. Alice Myers, Mrs. Inez Myers, Mrs. Virgil Kimble, all of Newark, and Mrs. Lizzie Todd of Lincoln, Neb.
Funeral services were held March 12 at 1 o'clock from the Baptist church. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Rev. ArthurWilkson, pastor of La Grange, conducted the services.
