Funeral services for Mrs. Belle Grubbs Payne, age 81 of Jefferson will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the New Prospect Baptist Church. Burial will follow services at Prospect Cemetery under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home of Jefferson. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Haggard Funeral Home.
Mrs. Payne was born April 8, 1929 in Jefferson to John Kirby Grubbs & Allie Vee Ponder Grubbs. She passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010 in Jefferson. Belle was a devoted member & church clerk of the New Prospect Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, a retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., and an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. She loved the outdoors & spending time with all her family & friends. Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry Grubbs & a sister Johnnie Grubbs Kirkland.
