Brent Carson Walker, 61, of St. Albans, formerly of Keith, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at his home, after a long illness.
He was born July 24, 1952, in Charleston, a son of the late Callie "Bunk" and Virginia Lynn Kinder Walker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane and Billy Beller.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sarah "Jane" Williams Walker; a daughter, Tessa Michelle Walker-Walkup and husband, Jeff, of Charleston; a granddaughter, Kendra Alexis Hager; step-grandkids, Brittany Walkup and Jeffrey Walkup II; brothers, Denny Estep and Linda, Michael Walker and Sally of Leon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brent was a retired coal miner with Armco and Peabody coal companies. He was a member of UMWA District No. 17, Local 6608. He was best known for always helping others and his humor; he never met a stranger. Kendra was the light of Papaw Brent's life.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Keith Full Gospel Church, Keith, with Pastor June Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the church.

Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, is serving the family.
