PANHANDLE (Spc) - Don Edwin Smith, 63, died Sunday in the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Smith-Fox Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Vernon, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in [Pampa].

He was born June 26, 1919 in Blum, and had been a Carson County resident since 1977. He was a retired operating engineer, and a World War II veteran.

Survivors include one son, Clayton Smith of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Donya Owens of White Deer; one brother, Carl Smith of Amarillo; three sisters, Mrs. Elva McKenzie of Panhandle, Mrs. Dora Wolfe of Odessa, and Juanita Martin of White Deer; and five grandchildren.
